Successful Advocacy Meeting in Finland
Partners in Finland carried out three successful advocacy meetings in frame of the WHOSEFVA Project.
The first meeting took place on January 17th, 2018 at the Helsinki Vocational College with 9 participants from various backgrounds including healthcare teachers, a Director, a Senior Supervisor, head nurses, home care manager, and senior social worker of various services for the elderly. The aim of the meeting was to assess current situation of the basic education and continuing training of the social and health care professionals regarding international and European recommendations and regulations.
The second meeting was held on March 12th, 2018 at the Malmi Hospital in Helsinki with 14 participants (public prosecutors, chief inspector, senior ward physicians, deputy chief physician, nurse managers, head nurse of emergency, home care manager, and senior social worker. The aim of this meeting was to review the current situation of Best Practice Protocols used in hospital’s emergency and assess the future development needed regarding older victims of violence.
The third meeting took place on June 1st, 2018 at the Kustaankartano Comprehensive Service Center with 4 participants (health care teacher, home care manager, supervisors, and senior supervisor). The aim of the meeting was to discuss recommendations on elderly care and elder abuse, developed in Daphne/Whosefva –project from the Finnish perspective
